Heather Locklear is one of Hollywood’s most well-known actresses. She is most known for her role as Amanda Woodward in the television series Melrose Place, for which she received three Golden Globe nominations in a row for Best Actress in a Dramatic Television Series.
Dynasty, T. J. Hooker, Spin City, Franklin & Bash, Money Talks, and The Perfect Man are among her other notable film and television credits.
Locklear is poised to feature on the small screen in Lifetime’s television movie Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff: The Kristine Carlson Story, after years of experience working on both the big and small screens.
Stay tuned as we reveal five important details regarding Locklear’s future flick.
1. The Film Is Based on a Series of Books
Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff: The Kristine Carlson Story is based on the book series Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff, which Kristine Carlson and her husband, Dr. Richard Carlson, co-authored.
The novel, as well as the film, chronicles the life of author Carlson as her world crumbles after her late husband’s untimely death.
The 58-year-old single mother finds her voice and the strength to manage and rebuild her life with her two daughters despite tremendous sadness.
It also honors Locklear’s sobriety.
While the movie is about Carlson’s tragic loss, it also honors actress Locklear’s recovery.
The 59-year-old actress formerly struggled with addiction but was able to overcome it with the help of her family. She even celebrated a year of sobriety in April 2020.
“I’ve learned that no matter what happens, or how horrible things appear today, life goes on, and tomorrow will be better,” Locklear posted on Instagram at the time.
3. Locklear Is Getting Along With Her Character
Since signing on to the picture, the actress has been working hard to get into character. To do so, she purchased the entire Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff book series.
She took to Instagram on July 15, 2021, to share a photo of various books from the Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff series that she had been reading throughout the summer.
Carlson, who goes through an emotional and hard period after her husband’s death, will be played by her in the film. Jason MacDonald, Natasha Bure, and Emily Rose will join her on screen.
4. This is Meghan McCain’s first job since leaving ‘The View.’
Meghan McCain, a columnist, novelist, and television host, will use the film project as a follow-up to her exit from the ABC talk show The View.
McCain, along with Maura Dunbar and Mark Teitelbaum, would serve as executive producers on the film. The Johnson Production Group and Teitelbaum Artists will produce the film for Lifetime.
In a July 26 Instagram post, McCain said, “I am beyond excited and humbled to be teaming with @lifetimetv and @kristine Carlson to executive produce the classic “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff” book into a Lifetime film with icon @HeatherLocklear starring as Kristine.”
Ellen S. Pressman is in charge of directing, while Shannon Bradley-Colleary is in charge of scriptwriting.
5. Author Carlson Is As Excited As We Are About The Adaptation
Everyone, including actress Locklear, executive producer McCain, and fans, is really thrilled about the idea. Author Carlson isn’t far behind in this race.
Everyone involved in the project, including the renowned author, is ecstatic about the adaptation.
She even turned to Instagram on July 26 to express her joy, writing, “I’m ecstatic to share the news that @heatherlocklear will star in a new Lifetime movie titled: Don’t Get hung up on the Minor Details: The Kristine Carlson Story will be released soon!!!”
With a good script based on The New York Times bestselling book series, the film seems potential.
