Jeff Mauro, aka the Sandwich King, is an American celebrity chef who appears to take his fitness as seriously as he does his food. Despite being constantly surrounded by food, the chef has managed to reduce weight and maintain his fitness.
He has been an inspiration to all those foodies who believe that their love of food is an impediment to their fitness goals after a significant weight loss.
Let’s take a look at Chef Jeff’s fitness transformation, which has allowed him to stay close to the kitchen while still becoming slim and athletic.
Back in 2013, Jeff Mauro made his first weight-loss hints.
While Jeff Mauro was never obese or overweight in the traditional sense, it’s safe to say that he gained weight while hosting Sandwich King, which is understandable for a guy who liked to put mac and cheese on his sandwich with two-way bacon strips (Yum!).

Many of his female admirers adored Jeff, but the winner of the seventh season of Food Network Star seems to have made the decision early on that he would not be shopping in the big apparel area anytime soon (or ever). In 2013, he initially hinted at his weight loss when he tweeted in response to a fan that he was less fat but just as cuddly.
Chef Jeff Goes All-In on Cross-Fit, Yoga, and Cycling!
It must be difficult to avoid the guilty pleasures of those exquisite extra carbs when you’re a top chef continually surrounded by some of the best cooks and food in the world. As a result, we’re betting you’ll have to work extra hard to meet your weight-loss and fitness objectives. According to the celebrity chef’s social media accounts, he has participated in a variety of fitness programs throughout the years and has worked with a number of fitness experts to achieve his goals.
For example, he told The Food Network that he takes a one-hour Cross Fit workout at least three to four times a week.
In 2017, he also signed up for SoulCycle lessons. The chef can be seen joking around with his SoulCycle instructor Anthony in an Instagram photo dated September 2017. He already appears to be thinner than he was in previous years’ photographs (like the one above).
In addition, the co-host of The Kitchen does Yoga to help him achieve his health goals. In 2019, he shared a selfie of himself with his wife and other female friends after a Power Yoga Session. In the midst of the ladies’ yoga positions, he appears to be quite athletic, making an Aoki leap.
At the Strive Village, Jeff Mauro appears weary. “The best exercises for you are ones where you’re at your worst and you motor through it,” he wrote on his Instagram account. It’s clear that he’s putting in a lot of effort.
The Chef’s hard work has paid off, as he now appears to be much healthier.
Jeff’s years of hard work have certainly paid off, as he now appears to be thinner and fitter than he was in 2015. Then, in a photo taken at the 2015 Battle of the Burger in Chicago, the host of Sandwich King appeared to be quite obese, with his tummy slightly jutting out.
The 42-year-old chef looked a lot thinner in comparison to his 2015 shot as his fitness regimen evolved throughout the years building up to Halloween 2020.
In the Mauro family, fitness is a way of life.
Jeff Mauro’s passion for exercise (and, of course, eating!) appears to have passed down to his son Lorenzo. Young Lorenzo, like his father, enjoys cheeseburgers but keeps his health in check with Karate courses.
Lorenzo, like his father, enjoys mixing it up when it comes to exercise. Jeff posts images and videos of his son doing bodyweight and Cross-fit workouts, and he has also enrolled him in boxing. Lorenzo throwing out some pretty good combinations for his first day in boxing classes, according to a social media post from approximately two years ago.
Mama bear is sure to be in there as well, with papa bear and baby bear both on the go. Sarah Mauro has always appeared to be in great shape and is frequently seen working out with her husband.
