Daymond John, a Shark Tank businessman, lost his first marriage and his relationship with his first two daughters after becoming oblivious to his brand’s success, which is worth $1 billion. His family gradually drifted away from him as he made more money.
Though late, he altered his lifestyle and enjoyed a happy married life with his second wife and third daughter.
Ignorance Led To Divorce With First Wife
John was once married to a woman with whom he has two daughters: Yasmeen and Destiny. Their relationship survived before the success of his company, FUBU.
But as he started gaining success, he started losing touch with reality. Mostly away from his home, he became an absentee dad and a husband. He would be away for business six months of the year and party with his friends for the other six. He rarely saw his wife and kids, and the situation worsened.
Even at Forefront, he admitted that his wife had seen him more often on TV than in person. When he would appear in ads and gatherings, things became difficult for his wife.
Despite being hurt, she was treated disrespectfully by her neighbors and made fun of for being wealthy and disconnected from the community.
The final nail on the coffin for his marriage was a disconnection with his little girls. Their marriage was ended because his wife could not tolerate the differences.
Improved Himself For his Daughters
Although his ex wife ended their relationship, she gave John a chance to prove his dedication to his daughters. She struck a firm agreement with him that if he began helping others, he wouldn’t lose custody of his daughters entirely.
He started his “improvement” by teaching people the knowledge he had regarding the business world. He has been active with many organizations and projects that are dedicated to improving the community since the early 2010s.
His wife respected their agreement after he reintegrated himself into the community.
Today, he is on good terms with his two daughters and routinely posts about them.
John’s Present Marriage
John’s life improved once he realized how valuable money was in comparison to other forms of currency. He met Heather Taras, his current spouse.
They welcomed their first and John’s third daughter, Minka Jagger John, on March 2, 2016. On September 22, 2016, while filming an episode of Shark Tank, Daymond proposed to Heather, around six months after their daughter was born.
They tied the wedding knots on June 2, 2018, in Santorini, Greece. The images of them enjoying fun on different occasions can be seen on both the husband and wife’s Instagram. e Better after Divorce with First Wife
