The Los Angeles Dodgers finally won the World Series last year, ending a 32-year drought. Corey Seager won the Most Valuable Player award after the National League (NL) champions defeated the American League (AL) champion Tampa Bay Rays 4-2.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, fans were unable to watch this fantastic season, but they were nonetheless rewarded to a ring ceremony in April of this year.
Players and spectators alike found the lifting of these restrictions and the ceremony that followed to be a cathartic experience as they were finally able to share their triumph in person.
The Dodgers’ season was full of memorable and even contentious moments, but one of the season’s more intriguing side stories included utility player Chris Taylor, who started every game of the World Series and batted.217 on average in 24 plate appearances.
Taylor was the only University of Virginia player to compete in both a College and MLB World Series, and as a result, he was inducted into the Virginia Baseball Hall of Fame.
During the ring ceremony in April, Taylor even heard from Brian O’Connor, his former college coach. O’Connor declared,
Taylor gained a lot of attention due to his season-long streak of match victories. His personal life as a result has also been highlighted, particularly his friendship with Mary Keller.

On July 13, Taylor arrived at Coors Field for the All-Star Game in Denver, Colorado, by way of the purple carpet with his girlfriend.
The couple addressed themselves to the cameras in a post by the LA Dodgers, with Taylor speaking clumsily and Keller appearing incredibly anxious.
Later that day, Taylor’s mother shared a photo of herself and her husband with the young couple on social media.
Keller’s relationship with Taylor first came to light in August of last year, when Keller wished Taylor a happy 30th birthday on Instagram.
She shared a number of images of herself trekking with Taylor and Hendrix, her cherished pet dog.
Keller went to Taylor’s World Series game later on in the year. As they shared a kiss through the nets, the couple showed no reluctance to publicly express their love.
Taylor only posted about Keller in March 2021 in a “far overdue girlfriend (and Hendrix) gratitude post,” whereas Keller posted images of their kiss on October 29, 2020.
The couple visited Taylor’s girlfriend Keller’s home city of Honolulu, Hawaii, during his off-season. A photo of the couple strolling alongside one another on an Oahu beach was posted by Keller.
