Britney Spears and her fiancé Sam Asghari are expecting their first child. Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, are her children from her previous marriage to Kevin Federline.

In an Instagram post on April 11, the pop star, 40, revealed she’s having her first child with fiancé Sam Asghari. “So I got a pregnancy test… and uhhhhh well… I am carrying a kid,” Britney wrote after noticing she was gaining weight following a recent trip to Maui with the 28-year-old fitness trainer.

Britney, who already has two sons from her former marriage to Kevin Federline, Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, said she “won’t be going out as much” to avoid paparazzi capturing her picture.

The actress reflected on her previous experience as an expecting star in the spotlight “It’s challenging since I suffered perinatal depression when I was pregnant,” the singer explained. It’s just bad, I have to say.”

“Back then, women didn’t talk about it… “Some people thought it was hazardous if a pregnant woman complained like way,” she added, “but now ladies talk about it all the time… Thank God, we don’t have to keep that agony a closely guarded secret anymore.”

Britney closed her statement by claiming that instead of going out, she will be “doing yoga every day” and “spreading tons of pleasure and love!!!”

Britney originally met Sam on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video about six years ago, and the pregnancy announcement comes almost six years later. Soon after the shoot, the couple began dating and were married in September 2021, after Sam proposed to Britney with a 4-carat diamond ring during a romantic proposal at Britney’s California home.

During Britney’s 13-year court struggle to release her conservatorship, she revealed in a shocking testimony that she wanted to marry and have a child, but that her conservators would not let her remove her birth control. “Right now, I have an [IUD] inside of me so I don’t become pregnant,” she said in a June 2021 hearing. “I deserve to have the same rights as everyone does by having a child, a family, any of those things.”

Her conservatorship was terminated in November, just weeks after Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, was suspended as her co-conservator following 13 years. “Mr. Spears has always done what he believes is in his daughter’s best interests,” Jamie’s legal team noted in a filing made before Britney’s conservatorship was terminated.
