The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum is speaking out only one day after word broke that Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker verbally said “I do” in a Las Vegas ceremony.
What occurs in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas.
At least, that’s what happened when Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker entered a Las Vegas chapel on April 3 and exchanged vows in a surprise wedding, just hours after attending the 2022 Grammy Awards. Despite the fact that they have yet to receive an actual marriage certificate to finalize the “Kravis” union, Kourtney believes the love that led to the impromptu vow nuptials is as genuine as it gets.
She posted an Instagram snap of the two in the chapel on April 6 with, “Found these on my camera roll.” “After an awesome night and a little tequila, a queen and her lovely king ventured out to the only open chapel with an Elvis and was married at 2 a.m. in a place far, far away (Las Vegas) (with no license). It is said that practice makes perfect.”
The Poosh founder’s recent statement regarding the wedding news that has fans scratching their heads reflects what an insider told E! News about their plans because they have “always joked about going away and just doing it at a chapel in Vegas and not informing anyone,” as the insider put it.
“They are not officially married,” the source said of their marriage in Sin City.
“It was a complete joke and something they enjoyed doing,” the source stated. “After a few drinks at Delilah after the Grammys on Sunday night, they decided it would be amusing to go to a chapel and get married.’ They felt it would be hilarious because they had a little too much fun in Vegas.”
They are, however, still very much in the process of securing their forever on a formal scale.
“Travis and Kourtney hope to marry legally this year,” the insider continued. “They’ve been concentrating on having a baby, but they intend to marry by the end of the year.”
Although “Kourtney would like [their wedding] to happen soon,” a separate source told E! News in January that “logistically it’s taking some time.”
After their Las Vegas wedding, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker are planning a formal wedding.
“Kourtney seems unconcerned with the finer points,” a second person said. “She isn’t a bridezilla in the least. Travis is involved as well, but he prefers to let Kourtney make the majority of the decisions since he wants it to be her special day.” According to a third source, their guest list will consist of “close friends and family” regardless of when the big day occurs.
Which, not likely, would include Kourtney’s three children, Mason, 12, Penelope, 9, and Reign, 7 (whose father is Scott Disick, Kourtney’s ex), as well as Travis’ son Landon, 18, and daughter Alabama, 16 (whose father is Scott Disick, Kourtney’s ex) (whose mom is his ex, Shanna Moakler).
Regardless of their immediate intentions for a larger ceremony, Kravis has a great ring to it.
