Jackson Galaxy, the host of the television show My Cat from Hell, took it a step further to show his passion for animals by getting married at a pet sanctuary.

On June 29, 2014, the 54-year-old television anchor married Minoo Rahbar at the Best Friends Animal Society’s no-kill pet sanctuary in Utah.

Galaxy couldn’t have chosen a better spot to start his married life than with his bride, who is also an animal rescuer.

Galaxy told People magazine after the wedding and before leaving on his honeymoon in the South Seas, “Our dog Mooshka was the ring bearer.”

The wedding ceremony was small and modest, with only a few family members and friends in attendance.

Galaxy originally met his wife Rahbar while helping her raise funding for a cat rescue she had created.

“For 15 minutes, we met for coffee. In the same interview with People, the cat behaviorist remarked, “And the rest, as they say, is history.” In June 2020, the power couple will celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary, and the TV personality took to Instagram to reflect on his wedding and his experiences over the years.

He couldn’t believe it had been six years since he and his wife Rahbar “exchanged vows in the Best Friends Animal Society shelter in Kanab, Utah,” as he put it.

“Being able to feel the energy of all the animals who have ever called that sanctuary home is one of the things that makes that canyon so amazing,” he wrote in the post.

“We felt cradled in, and blessed by their affection,” Gallery added. I’ve woken up every day since that day feeling loved, blessed…and lucky.”

The pair currently resides in Los Angeles with their dogs and pets.

Galaxy, who was born on April 28, 1966, spent much of his childhood in New York City. Richard Kirshner was his given name by his parents. The host of My Cat From Hell, who measures 6 feet and 2 inches (18.7 meters) tall, changed his given name when he reached adolescence.

He has a Master’s degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Acting.

After working for the Humane Society of Boulder Valley in Boulder, Colorado, he began studying cat behavior.

In 1992, Galaxy relocated to Colorado with the goal of establishing a career in music. In 2002, however, he launched his own cat consultation business, Little Big Cat, Inc., after learning his craft at the cat rescue center.

He starred as a cat behavior expert in shows like Game Show Network’s Think Like a Cat and Animal Planet’s Cats 101 after moving to LA in the mid-2000s. Galaxy was then given his own show, My Cat From Hell, on Animal Planet, which premiered in May of 2011.
