Amanda went to the woods for a 3-mile run on May 8 inside Makawao Forest on the island of Maui. She left her phone and wallet inside her vehicle and had no device for communication when she entered the woods. However, after jogging for a while, she sat down to meditate halfway her adventure. The 35-year-old woman became disoriented and couldn’t find her way back to her vehicle.
Amanda’s friends were concerned and reported her missing. The Maui Police investigated the case and later located her automobile in the parking lot at the Makawao Forest Reserve with her phone and wallet. Later, Hundreds of volunteers joined the search program along with Amanda’s friend, Sarah Haynes.
