Tana Mongeau has a sizable online following. She has been a divisive figure for most of her time in the spotlight. And her use of makeup and Facetune has frequently been one of the key driving causes behind the issues surrounding her.
Mongeau, on the other hand, has welcomed discussing both her makeup fixation and Facetune. She has worn no makeup in her videos on several occasions, usually when she is discussing intimate and vulnerable topics.
‘In how To Cake Your Face Like A Pro: The Trilogy,’ the internet star has also offered her cosmetic skills to her viewers. In a three-part video series, she detailed all of her makeup routines. Mongeau added that she liked filming those movies because she enjoyed assisting others, in this case, in taking up and improving their appearance.
Mongeau has also been candid about her appearance when she isn’t wearing makeup. She ranked herself as a two in the aforementioned makeup tutorial video series but would jump up to an eight after caking herself.
In her ’10 Things Tana Mongeau Can’t Live Without | Bootleg GQ’ video, she also cited artificial eyelashes as the one thing she couldn’t live without. Mongeau said in the video that she couldn’t live without a lot of things, including Backwoods cigars, but eyelashes were at the top of the list, stating they were the most important item she couldn’t live without.
Controversy about Mongeau’s Facetune
Mongeau has been extremely open about her use of Facetune to modify her images, much like she has been about her makeup. In November of this year, she was chastised for overusing the app in her images at the People’s Choice Awards.
After she posted her photo, she received a barrage of comments pointing out how unrecognizable she was. Several individuals commented on how her face had changed dramatically, with many of her facial traits altered.
Along with the genuine shot, the photos were shared on Reddit’s InstagramReality subreddit.
Several differences were visible after comparing the two, including how she had shortened her jawline, slimmed down her nose, and modified the shape and darkness of her brows, among other things.
While Mongeau did not directly address the problem, she did imply that she had heard all of the concerns in a post wishing her manager a happy birthday. “Swipe for a pic of me (with less facetune than last time) since I’m narcissistic,” she concluded her caption after wishing her manager.
Mongeau, on the other hand, has never denied using the photo altering program. “What if I did a facetune master class tour,” she had tweeted earlier that year in May.
Aside from makeup and photo editing tools, the YouTuber hasn’t been shy about revealing other cosmetic modifications she’s done to her body. Mongeau chronicled having butt injections in a vlog titled ‘I got Kylie Jenner butt shots… oops (needle warning)’ in April 2020.
